He went to England for a while, came back a few years later.
And he says that the IRA left him alone.
He didn't want to be involved anymore.
He was done with that.
He bought a breaker's yard on the Antrim Road near the waterworks in North Belfast, you know, for cars.
He was obsessed with cars.
He loved cars, always did.
And he dealt, you know, with Selby Cars on and that kind of thing.
And so that's how then he ended up, he got to know Mark Haddock and the UVF ones.
They didn't know, but Haddock did find out.
You've got to remember, so Haddock's this leader of Mount Vernon UVF, really notorious sectarian killer gang that are running all kinds of drug rackets, but also, you know, sectarian killings, all kinds of, every crime you can think of.
Haddock's the leader of this gang, but you've got to remember in all the time, he's also a tout.
He's also working for a special branch.
So, you know, he's paid for by the state.
And he finds out that he gets to know Terry from Terry Fayfield through the breaker's yard, through the car, through cars, working up at the garage.
They strike up a friendship.
They get on all right.
And he gets to know some of the other guys.
