Everybody can read it out there, but we're going to dig into that in just a moment too.

OK, I don't know about you.

I went to bed last night thinking that the story that would absolutely dominate the news today was Donald Trump suing the IRS and the U.S.

Treasury for $10 billion.

I mean, that is it is a huge freaking deal.

The president of the United States suing a government agency that he himself controls, an agency that will be defended by government lawyers who ultimately are under his control.

A president just blatantly abusing his power to enrich himself, like, that felt like it would be the biggest story of the day.

I was reading up on it.

I was all ready to talk about it.

But boy, was I wrong on that one.

I mean, today my colleagues, first of all, Carol Lennig and Ken Delaney, also broke another story that would be dominating news coverage on almost any day.

Because it turns out the reason the special agent in charge of the FBI's Atlanta field office was forced out of his job earlier this month was because...

He expressed concerns about the FBI's plan to investigate the 2020 election results in Fulton County, Georgia.

We also learned that news today.

Now, that news comes just days after the FBI executed a search warrant at the Fulton County Election Center, seizing 700 boxes of materials, including ballots related to the 2020 election.

So the fact that the special agent in charge of the Atlanta field office balked at that investigation and the FBI fired him and then moved forward with it anyway, that should be the biggest news of the month.

And I promise you we're going to continue to follow these stories very, very closely in the days and weeks ahead.

We are really tracking all of them.

Now, one of the other things I thought would have been one of the biggest stories of the day was that today, Democratic Congressman Robert Garcia was scheduled to announce an impeachment inquiry into Trump's DHS secretary, Kristi Noem.

Calls for Noem's removal have grown so much that this week we even saw two Republican senators call for her resignation.
