Yeah, actually, I don't think it's that wild at all.
If you think about it, when you're in a romantic relationship, you learn how to cooperate with someone.
You learn how to negotiate.
You learn how to talk about all those really uncomfortable things that you can't wiggle out of.
You do all of that stuff at work.
And if you think about the first time you had a boss or a teammate that you had to talk about something that you're like, oh, this is going to suck so bad.
You've already done that when you were 14, 15, 16.
Those skills are actually really transferable.
We just don't think about that.
all those awkward moments when we're kids, we're actually learning quite a bit that when we're 20, 21, 22, we can just kind of bring that stuff back up, use it in the workplace.
You know, when it comes to relationships, honestly, there's only so many ways you can skin a cat.
It's these interpersonal dynamics.
They are what they are.
So if you think about conflict, for example, if someone is trying to avoid an uncomfortable conversation, they'll bait and switch you, or they'll engage in reverse blame, or they will come up with all kinds of explanations for their behavior that has nothing to do with the actual thing.
They do that at work.
They do that at home.
Your kids will do that to you as parents.
Your parents will do that to you as adult children.
All of these basic interpersonal dynamics are really replicable from situation to situation.
