Dougie Hamilton made waves this summer by blocking a trade to the San Jose Sharks.
Hockey insider Elliott Freeman broke the news on Sportsnet, saying the Sharks tried to get the defenseman, but Hamilton said no.
Now, the New Jersey Devils are set to scratch the four-time Norris Trophy finalist on Sunday, putting him back on the trade block.
The 32-year-old right shy Blue Miner has struggled this season with just five goals and 10 points in 40 games.
Meanwhile, Devils general manager Tom Fitzgerald sees it differently.
He told reporters it's about lineup tweaks, like bringing back young David Nemec after injury and adjusting for Jake Pesce's play.
Fitzgerald wants Nemec regaining his form as their top defenseman before he got hurt.
