Veteran forward Jeff Skinner clinched waivers on Tuesday after the San Jose Sharks put him on waivers the day before.
The team called it a mutual decision to part ways, and now Skinner is free to sign with any NHL club.
The Sharks thanked him for his time with the organization and wished him well moving forward.
The 33-year-old signed a one-year contract worth $3 million with San Jose before the season started.
This year, Skinner posted six goals and seven assists in 32 games.
Back in 2011, he won the Calder Trophy as the league's top rookie while with the Carolina Hurricanes.
Last season marked his first playoff appearance ever, suiting up for the Edmonton Oilers.
With waivers cleared, all eyes are on where this scorer lands next.

The Dallas Stars are hunting for middle six forward help as the trade deadline nears and the playoff race heats up.
They've been linked to names like Blake Coleman and Nazem Qadri, but a cheaper option just popped up.
Veteran winger Jeff Skinner, a 31-year-old free agent, cleared waivers and mutually ended his contract with the San Jose Sharks.
Skinner had just 13 points in 32 games this season and was sometimes a healthy scratch on the rebuilding Sharks.
His $3 million cap hit is now off the books, making him free to sign anywhere without costing the Stars any assets.
