I can see why that's important.

I can only imagine how chaotic the business you run can be or how many moving parts there are.

Just as a consumer, I see so many different parts of Complex and so many different parts of the businesses you've run over time, just through my research as well.

And I can see why in your personal life you'd want things to be cool, calm and collected as you are and have been during any of our interactions.

I have my own

perception of complex based on my interactions with the brand to me complex is a media business that by design tries to define the complexities of media and culture i guess maybe pun intended but i'd love if we say internally it's complex perfect i'd love if you could help define what

i really felt that a lot growing up in particular where i was narrowly passionate about sneakers and other people were narrowly passionate about streetwear possibly or art or music and we would somehow bond over not the passion which was not shared but actually the idea of being passionate about these things that would converge and actually through media like complex

just grew my liking for different things naturally and actually grew my friendships and grew my interests beyond that one narrow focus.

It sounds like through all the different mediums that have been a priority for Complex, some sense of belonging for the audience and for the community is what was always a priority.

At least that's what I felt as a consumer.

Has that always been the intention?

I'd never made that Comic-Con comparison in the past.

And I guess now that you say it in hindsight, it makes a lot of sense.

ComplexCon is just Comic-Con for guys who like hip-hop and sneakers.

It makes sense.

But because it's such a digital first...
