But Carly says her mom never drove the boat.

A 16-year-old Chatfield High School student left home with a plan and a 7-inch butcher knife taken from the kitchen at home.

But after attending class with a teacher they allegedly planned to kill with a knife concealed in a backpack, apparently the plan changed.

The student asked to speak to a counselor.

And as the Jefferson County Sheriff tells the story, revealed what they'd planned to do, the knife was confiscated.

The school resource officer called in.

Now the student is under arrest and booked at the juvenile center on charges of carrying a weapon on school grounds.
