But yeah, they were going long into the likes of uh Emiliano Buendia, uh George Hemings, these kind of players who don't have a lot of experience in the Premier League, kind of winning flick-ons and holding the ball up.

And it meant that basically every time Villa did go long, Brighton were able to kind of win the first challenge.

And on the second clip, we have here we

can see how proactive Brighton are after they pressed in getting back and picking up that second ball.

So that was a trap that Villa kind of constantly ran into.

And you know, they didn't want to play through the press because they they didn't have the capacity.

Well they got caught out by that, didn't they?

And then when they went long, they weren't able to really um progress up the pitch that way either.

So yeah, they really, really struggled.

Um and it's it's difficult to see what they do to change.

Um I think looking back on those games, you know, they were centered around the really kind of solid and disciplined four four two mid block.

They wanted to squeeze the lines in between so that uh Martin Odegaard couldn't really get on the ball and dictate play.

And then as Adrian mentioned, they went quick and direct to the wingers whenever they were able to do that.
