You might have health scare, grief, sadness, heartbreak.
A global pandemic could come along, screw everything up.
These things are just completely out of control.
We have no agency over them whatsoever.
Um, but if we continue to think that we can overcome them through just our own efforts, then we're going to end up in a really difficult place because there's, there's sometimes there is no, there is no way forward in certain situations and that's okay.
Sometimes we have to stand still for a little while and that's okay.
Sometimes we might even regress, you know?
but goodness me the amount of times i go into a uh conference or whatever and realize i didn't know half as much as i thought i did uh as when i went in there is just staggering and so sometimes you might even slip backwards and regress a little bit and also that's okay too like we don't have to always be growing all the time moving forward um um it's it's absolutely fine to let life happen a little bit
And actually that's really freeing and liberating because when you do that, you're able to just sit with this disappointment a little easier.
You can have a good conversation with, you know, when you fail, it's okay.
You know, you can, you can, you don't have to like instantly try and do everything you can to overcome that or overcompensate for that.
Actually, you can just let it sit there.
wash through you a little bit.
Do you know what I mean?
Like it's, that's a very joyous thing actually sometimes to be able to go, yeah, yeah, I screwed up and that's just because I'm a human being and that's okay.
So, um, I, you know, I think letting, but giving yourself permission to do that is so important and you're not going to do it all the time, of course, but, um,
it that's something that's really helped me just to just just let life happen and sometimes it's going to be great sometimes it's not but i've found i've definitely been a lot happier since i've been able to do that um and then and then coming with that is is this this sense of you know you have to be kind to yourself too along that way because if you are going to let life in a little bit you're going to encounter more setback and therefore you have to be kind to yourself at all times that inner critic that person you that you chastise whenever you've done something wrong
Well, they're kind of like an inner child and you have to treat them and speak to them as if you would speak to a child or a friend when they've done something wrong.
It's okay.
It doesn't matter.
