Well, I was actually coming back from a conference in New York City when the news broke in June of 2013 that it was Edward Snowden.

And I was not surprised.

I did not know him.

Some people thought I knew him because he had been at NSA.

I didn't, but I was not surprised.

I had always hoped that someone at great risk would come along later.
