Maybe.
Well, I mean, I think Blaschel's done an awesome job.
Like, I think they made a huge coaching upgrade, and then I think the Bedard injury obviously changed things.
warn our market about and warn ourselves about like this is something that I'm saying mostly to like be a reminder of for myself but also because I just want to spit it out I've been thinking about it a lot especially as I've been watching Chicago just absolutely suck down the stretch of this season and thinking like why is Kyle Davidson's name never like why is he that team has zero heat or criticism
Here's one of the dangers that you run into when you rebuild.
You rebuild and you divorce yourself of standards.
And all of a sudden, there becomes a conflation between the idea of being patient and the idea of having a patient plan.
It's like...
At some point, results still matter.
At some point, your draft picks and process still matters.
At some point, getting results when you land a player like Bedard over the course of his first three years in the NHL to at least not be the second worst team in the league year after year does matter.
And I think sometimes when you enter a rebuild, people like suggest that everyone, everyone clear out this team needs space.
And I don't think you should allow yourself to drive the conversation to be that far removed.
But if this team doesn't... Like, if this Canucks team is 32nd, 31st, 31st... 31st is what we're talking about.
31st, yeah.
Like, you know, because they were last the year they got Bernard, right?
So it's four years where they've been last.
Like, if we're talking about this team being in last or second last for four more years...
We have to be willing to call that a failure and applying pressure on the organization in my mind.
Really quick, we got a question in, and I've got to just throw this at you as a test of whether or not we'll have you back next week.
