In both cases, I have a massive amount of distaste for the organizations involved.
Yes.
Right?
Like FIFA is a mess.
As corrupt as it gets.
I want nothing good for FIFA.
But at the end of the day, you see how much this means to these athletes and you see how much it means to the fans.
And you see the way that fans come together collectively to just like celebrate with people of different cultures and have a pop and have a good time and be themselves.
And what that means to people, that ability to share an experience in these short experiences that we call our lives.
How much that means.
Likewise with the Knicks, like James Dolan.
where it's like individuals do good work and are worth celebrating, but the institutions that they represent are not just crumbling around them, but are like irredeemably corrupt.
And we just have to understand that and do our best to navigate it with other like-minded people on the planet.

monitoring how the Vancouver Canucks are operating, comparing it with how teams like the Carolina Hurricanes, but among others, the best teams in the league are operating, the types of moves they make, the types of bets they make, the way they're staffed.
And become a little bit hopeless, right?
Especially because there's been a lot of years where I feel like I've been trying to crank the air raid siren to come back to a hurricanes analogy, right?
And just be like, this isn't going to work.
And people just want their sports team to deliver them some hope.
