The devil will be in the details in terms of how much the Canucks provide, how much the provincial government provides, how much public support goes into the construction of whatever is happening at the Britannia facility, whether there's multiple sheets.
Like, there's still so many unknowns for us to react to it.
But I do think it's critical that when we see the details of whatever that deal looks like that, you know,
the Canucks are seen to be doing a square deal with the public.
I think that's going to be absolutely vital for the franchise's best interests.
And in part, because as we get to the end of the season and, you know, even Dunbar lumber is leaning into the necessity of a rebuild on our, on our airwaves, like the, the, the, the fact of the rebuild is now not debated.
I mean, it's just the reality of where we've arrived and,
I think it's really critical that we bear in mind and think through sort of this idea that what needs to be rebuilt in Vancouver is not just the roster.
The rebuild that this organization needs is,
goes well beyond just that.
And, you know, there's so many different layers that we could get into here.
I mean, there's the relationship with local media.
There's the relationship with players and the trust with agents and their representatives around the league, as indicated by this athletic poll.
There's the trust of paying customers.
Season ticket holders who saw their prices raise after a season in which the Canucks may not be able to win as many regulation games as they did during the 2021 season in which the league only played 21 games.
56 games, but yeah.
56 games, sorry.
21 games, that would be really bad.
That team would have been sick, though.
The point being that there's trust that needs to be rebuilt with fans who are feeling increasingly like the organization views them as, you know, like bags of money to exploit as opposed to supporters with a meaningful interest in the success of the club.
