And it's just basic journalism 101.

is don't ask a yes or no question.

And constantly you hear them ask a yes or no question.

They let the guests completely take over the show, completely take over the interview, change the tone.

And I just think the way that we have to show up, what success looks like for us as journalists in the newsroom, we could never get away with that.

And so I tried to make a practice of that, of not tolerating that, not sanitizing Trumpers, calling out disrespectful behavior when anybody from Megyn Kelly to Tucker Carlson was disrespectful to me.

Certainly I had something to say, but I would focus my I would focus my response, my retort on factual information, on contributing.

And even now, when I've gone on certain shows, I'm never disrespectful.

I'm not polite.

I don't make small talk with Nazis, but I'm not disrespectful.

And I watch people like, you know, Scott Jennings, you know, lacking in any kind of intellect and making it for vulgarity be celebrated by networks.

And yet I am considered a controversial guest.

he's considered that crazy scott he's entertaining but i'm considered a controversial guest i'm considered the person who makes everybody uncomfortable and it's just it's infuriating but i think it's time you know i i just i know a long time ago we got exhausted with asking for a seat at the table um and so we do have to turn to more independent media outlets and i think you're seeing that i mean everybody's ratings is down cnn's ratings are horrific um they i mean i know the press release likes to make it look pretty

It's not going well because they are trying to be dry.

They're trying to be Fox News like MS.

Now their ratings are terrible.

You get more viewers on your show than these cable news outlets.

And you would have been those same viewers would have been tuning into you at 10 o'clock every night.

uh joy gets more viewers on her show roland martin gets more viewers on his show i do think we have to be careful with some independent uh outlets because everybody thinks they're a journalist you know if i got a podcast mic and a camera then i'm a journalist and i have to tell people no everybody is not a journalist and know the difference between commentators and journalists and you know people who actually fact find and report and inform an audience so it's it's a tough market to navigate

I mean, it's because it's incestuous.
