So they've left their money in crypto, not knowing about the taxes or perhaps knowing about the taxes, but choosing to ignore it or defer it or delay it.
Whereas the other side of our clients, they've been working with us for some time.
They understand the tax.
They're a little bit more structured with governance around them.
So they make decisions wearing not the whole hat that they wear when they make a decision, but tax forms a play of their strategy.
So in those cases, those clients are sweet.
They know the tax.
They know how it works.
They're prepared.
They have a plan for how they play it.

He's got a million dollar tax bill.
Took him nine months to sell the house.
He's got use of money interest accumulating at a ridiculous interest rate with IRD.
Had to sell the house at a loss because the market condition changed in the housing market.
Then he had to repay IRD and he's almost back to square one.
So there are those situations where tax has just been set on the sideline and has created some significant stresses for those types of clients.
Should I bother?
