But it is more tax efficient.

So it comes back to like, well, tax is just one lens of how to make an investment decision.

It's probably a small lens, but it's like, hey, where are the rewards?

Where's the risk?

Where's the opportunity?

What do I want exposure to?

And that's obviously for the client to decide.

But yeah, you can own these shares in an overseas company and be captured under these completely different rules called the foreign investment fund rules or the FIF rules.

A simple example, a very simplified example, is you pay tax on 5% of the opening market value.

So...

If you've got 100 grand of Bitcoin and it goes to 200 grand, if it's Bitcoin directly, you pay taxes on that $100,000 profit.

So that might be $33,000, $39,000 if you're in that tax bracket.

If you own the fifth, well, you pay taxes on 5% of 100 grand.

So that's income of $5,000 that you return and you're paying taxes of $1,500 compared to $33,000.

Yeah, so like I said, it was a simplified example.

It depends.

If you're a natural person or a trust, yes, you've got a different method available.

So you've got another method called the comparative value method.

So in that case, it compares the opening and the closing value.
