I think he upgraded his talent.

both as receiver and running back rooms.

A lot more depth, a lot more variety of weapons.

You come back to the offensive line, they brought in a ton of guys.

But more worrisome is the two guys that were probably going to be starting tackles were both out in the spring.

So there's some real questions about continuity and who all is going to play what spots.

That still needs to be sorted out in the fall.

That's a great question.

I've been discussing this with people.

I know that he wants to get Collin through the season, and maybe he wants to get Casey Alexander through his season.

I'm not sure.

But I think this will be the last full athletic year for him.

Maybe he goes a year and a half and gets through another Collin season.

I'm not sure, but I think Gene's ready to ride off into the sunset, too.

And another reason why I think it might be soon is he and Chris Kleiman are brothers.

They're tight.

And Chris is back for one more year to kind of help out and be around Colin and kind of be available to him as a resource.

But it's just from what I'm hearing, one year.

And I think at that point Gene and Chris might just retire together and, I don't know, go live in Sarasota like everyone else.
