I'm well, Phyllis.
How are you doing?
Well, I'm a little confused.
I thought they would be much better than this.
Now, injuries, obviously, especially the rotation, have really set them back.
But they're six games under.
They've been outscored by 35 runs.
But they're only two and a half games out of the wild card, the last wild card, in a very, very ordinary American league.
So I just don't think this is time to,
give up on the season when you still have a chance to make the playoffs.
But a lot of stuff is going to have to happen, and the first thing is they're going to have to score some more runs.
I mean, they're 26th in the major leagues in run score, and they're 23rd in home runs, and that's just not the way to make the playoffs, especially when you're
kind of an ordinary pitching team, middle of the pack when it comes to ERA, and they have not been the elite defensive team that they were, especially in the postseason last year.
So there's a lot of work to do, but I would not give up on this season because even the teams that are ahead of them for the wild card, none of them is a really good team that, well, we'll never beat those guys.
It's a wide open American League.
So I think the Blue Jays have to come out and start playing really well the second half and hope they can move forward.
But haven't been a whole lot of signs so far that that's going to happen.
Well, again, I am confused by this.
Anyone who watched him play...
in October last year and I saw every Blue Jays playoff game would acknowledge this is one of the best players in baseball and not just because he has great power and is a great hitter but he played a really good defense at first base and runs way better than people think and then he was really good in the world baseball classic and yet none of that has followed through I mean he
