And so it had a purpose.
And so what I felt on first reading and then second reading, I thought this is telling me more about myself and my snobbishness as a reader.
rather than Jordan as a as a writer or these characters, because I was thinking, hang on, where's the charm of this Abbey?
And the Denumont, it turns out to be extremely charming, but she reminded me of a uh I guess the the the go-to these days would be she's a train wreck.
She's a bit of a flea bag character, but the two protagonists in the Broad City TV program were most prescient in my mind.
Abby's i impulsive, she's while she's a really heavy drinker, loves taking the drugs, which
prohibits her really moving beyond her sloganeering as as her ambitions.
It seems quite incredulous that her friendship with Nikita, who's her housemate,
Who is a very charming, very considered, intelligent, incredibly patient friend.
And so the tension of their friendship and how Abby really tests that almost every day, whether it's what she projectile vomits the night before or the way she treats a friend in public.
But when Abby gets wind of a uh a project that is being proffered by a very
very wealthy Scandinavian gentleman about colonizing
