Your turn for a question.
days.
Yeah, so I have to say I don't see so much an issue with Mariana and Russo.
What Mariana was doing in this game, she wasn't very central.
Because we were trying to set up those underlaps in the channels, she kept drifting over to the wide positions to team up with either Chloe Kelly or Lisa Baum and find those passes in the channels.
So I don't think Mariana as a 10 was connected to the 9s.
in the same way and her positioning wasn't very central.
She was going over to the channels all the time.
So I don't think there was really a direct relationship between the two.
Maybe that's part of the issue.
Um, I don't know.
I would say as well, like Russo's XG from this game was about 1.5, something like that.
And again, with better finishing, um,
I don't know what her XG was when she scored a hat-trick against Tottenham back in March, but I'd wager it was similar.
And so I do think there's an element of, I keep saying like Rene coached a winning game, and I always have this thing I don't worry about strikers missing chances because all strikers miss chances.
Attacking is a game of volume.
The point is you're supposed to generate a lot of them.
And if you look at the players who miss the most chances, miss the most big chances in a season, they're usually the top scorers.
They're the people who get lots and lots of shots and lots of chances.
And Russo had, I mean, one gilt-edge chance, one good chance in the second half as well from a kind of goal-mouth scramble.
