I can't think of many times that Fallon, Tullis, Joyce really made you draw breath with a save.
And so the game draws on and I think it was clear the pattern was going to go like this.
However, whereas last week against Palace, I think the substitutes or substitutions...
kind of destroyed the rhythm of the game and Arsenal had almost no shots in the last 20 minutes.
On this occasion, the substitutions were a bit better.
We saw Selena Churchy come on and we saw Smilla Holmberg come on.
Now, Churchy wasn't on the bench against Crystal Palace and I think that was a mistake in hindsight.
Smilla didn't come on against Palace, I think, because they didn't want to chuck too many crosses in the box.
Whereas this time, Jamie, they kind of
um it feels like renee when when i say basic i don't mean that pejoratively but she put on her best crosser and she put on her her best aerial striker and it did go a bit let's spam crosses in
And I mean, we'll come to the United goal in a minute, but it did feel like at the very least, the substitutions, whether by accident or design, were a little bit more effective, even leaving aside the fact that literally a substitute scores the equaliser.
Yeah, and I always had the feeling with this guy, like the second he got to half-time 0-0, I felt like my pre-match prediction, this might be like a 2-0, but really toughed out.
I maybe paired that down to a 1-0 and we're going to tough it out and it might go right to the last second.
But I really felt it was either going to be 0-0 or 1-0 to Arsenal.
And...
Jamie, we're recording this over 48 hours after the game and players make mistakes at times and you kind of have to accept that that's part of football.
I have to say, even like a good 50 hours later, I'm finding Georgia Stanway's pass to Steph Catley really difficult to accept.
And that's kind of unfair on her because it can happen, but it's just the context of it where we could not afford to throw the ball in our own net.
and Manchester United had no interest in attacking whatsoever.
They were playing for a 0-0.
