Despite everything, and there's a lot that despite is doing some heavy lifting there, I still love it.

Maybe that's a flaw in my personality, but I still find at the center of the whole thing,

with the World Cup, more than with the club game, I still find a sense of purity.

Because so much of the club game has become the province of billionaires and equity funds and all the rest of it.

At the heart of the national team game, I still think that there's a purity there.

So yeah, I'm very, very much looking forward to it, despite everything.

And that makes all the difference, I think, because South America is so vast, um,

And quite often, the Portuguese half of it, which is Brazil, doesn't know much about the Spanish half of it, which is the nine other footballing countries.
