And what was it about Lenny that caught your eye, Whisker?

He was a cracker, Gary.

I don't want to embarrass Lenny, but the first time we had a time trial, I don't know whether Lenny will remember this or not, but we were all there sitting there watching.

He just ran his guts out, he did.

And I thought, there's something about this young man.

He's got a little bit of character in him, and he's got a great desire.

He always had a great desire to be great.

You still enjoying your time in footy, Lenny?

Yeah, I'm really lucky to be still involved in the game and, yeah, now in the GM role at the same.

Yeah, very fortunate to be in that role and really enjoying it.

What does a GM of football do?

Like, what is your actual day-to-day work involved?

So yeah, it's been enjoyable.

I mean, I'm always fascinated.

Everyone talks about how brutal Ross is and how difficult he is.

And it's amazing how many of his former players actually reconnect with him and go back and work for him.

So he can't be all that bad.

And I've probably had a number of times over my career where I really felt that.

And yeah, I think sometimes what you see from the outside isn't necessarily the true reflection of the person that he is.
