There are a lot of the screenings, though, that we go to and I do see, you know, we'll go to a screening and then there'll be a thing at the end saying social media reactions encouraged by this date.
And that date is often earlier than when the written reviews are allowed to drop, which are obviously the more in-depth analysis of the film.
Oh, really?
So it's ahead of that.
I think quite a lot of the time it is.
So I guess you are getting that, oh my God, quick short reactions to begin with that sort of set the precedent before all the deeper analysis comes.
There's been a lot of reactions from film critics and journalists that are quite happy about this.
I guess one of the things that was said is, you know, you do get a lot of people coming out being like, oh, my God, it's a masterpiece.
All these huge sweeping statements, like one of them was quoting Spielberg's best film in 20 years and those type things.
And I think for critics, it makes it harder as well of how you approach writing your reviews because there is this expectation already amongst audience members of what they're going into before they even get to that point.
Yeah, I think as well the thing is like obviously a lot of the people that are going like say influencers, a lot of them are just like everyday people that comment on movies and film.
They might not be critics but maybe how they like enjoy the film is just like an authentic –
like response and i feel like the everyday person that might watch it may find that more relatable than more of a critique from a film perspective like i think there's still a place for it like i enjoy watching other people who i feel i relate to or i feel like they're authentic and if they enjoyed the movie then that kind of gives me like a bit of like intrigue around it like i mean i just think of the example that comes to mind it's like obsession
Like I don't watch horror at all, but I saw so many people watching and speaking on it and it may have not been like necessarily like a film critic.
And I think just further to that, I think there is a role for like films have to meet audiences where they are.
And not all audiences are reading film reviews online.
Like they're on social feeds.
I 100% agree.
It's sort of catering to different things.
So obviously I agree.
