Media platform X is awash with images of Reform Party leader Nigel Farage fighting Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey.
The problem is the images are fake.
The posts are linked to a counterfeit BBC News article claiming the two came to blows on popular political panel show Question Time.
But that confrontation never happened.
Yet the posts have quotes attributed to Farage, criticising Bailey over the cost of living and promoting AI-powered investment platforms.
They also include links to an app called a Nocturex.

A reform official said the party had reported the adverts, but declined to say whether that was to X or to a UK regulator.
In London, Tiwa Adebayo, Bloomberg Radio.
