I was captain and had responsibility and wanted to do the right thing by the footy club and and knew that me and George would have a discussion at the end of the year and and weigh it up and so we met Geelong on that Monday and then left there going, yeah, like maybe it is a big possibility.
possibility and then spent the next week, changed my mind every two minutes and just couldn't yeah, really struggled with you know, being decisive either way.
Um and then the with a few days probably leading up to that, um, with a bit more thinking and I guess valuing what you know, assessing what what I value and and and then sort of got to where we got to by you know Wednesday night and yeah, yeah, so
nine, nine thirty and then I knew I'd I'd have to call people Thursday morning, but I knew Cogs was in Europe and and he's been my best mate and like a buddy for fifteen years so I I I knew he'd be asleep Thursday morning so I called him at yeah nine thirty at night and then called e called everyone from the Giants that I needed to call uh over the next yeah six hours once I woke up on Thursday.
Yeah, I I can um it's uh I just well, one, like I'd love to have three kids and and and that's a lot easier uh in um in Victoria.
That's just there's you know, we got family support down here.
Um we we certainly struggled it with our first as well, which was which was hard, but we're we're we're flying now.
W that's why it was hard.
We're super happy.
We love Sydney, love the people, love the club, but um
W that's where we wanted to go from a family perspective and then um and and that's certainly a lot easier down here and then uh from a selfish footy perspective, like
I I I I'm s r just like feel like I'm gonna be s really energized and really excited by a new challenge and something different and a new environment and um then the last few days before I got to my decision I was like I know I'm like I'm actually really excited to try something different and and and prove myself to new people and try and finish off my career with um you know, with a lot of energy and fun and and and go from there and um
And I thought that it might have been a bit of a grind perhaps at the Giants if I was trying to do that for not that I'm saying that I don't I think the Giants will be highly competitive the next three years and I don't agree with some of the narrative that they're resetting or they're they're they're not gonna try and win it.
I don't agree with that.
I think the young group coming through are as good as anyone's young group in the competition, so that's why the decision was hard.
Um
But those were the two probably major reasons uh about moving back, yeah.

Yeah, Cogs will um certainly in tears and then um yeah, and then Dave and who I've been with for fifteen years and and Jay's for ten, um King is for four, but you know, I l I love him as a coach.
I reckon he's a great coach and great person and then call Josh Callie, Witters, um
