And it made me really think about the novel as being a piece of history and a very powerful piece of history because the ways in which it's history told through the eyes of people

someone who's a child or growing up and becoming an adult throughout the course of it.

So it's the ways in which people experience events as being sporadic and piecemeal.

You know, the idea of constructing into this, you know, the way that traditional history does, you know, sort of the context and the narrative.

That is not necessarily the way that people actually experience the past.

Yeah, this seems to be about how it's experienced from a human level, which I think is, yeah, it's very interesting to think about it as history like that.
