So it kind of all comes together.

Yeah, in fact, you know, I like to say that most Holocaust memoirs start in camps and this one begins in a Chinese restaurant.

Yeah, well, definitely Mongolian beef.

Because that's my dad's favorite.

Uh the poo poo platter, anything fried.

And for my mom, we always have.

sweet and sour chicken or we call it sweet and sour in memoriam or for my mom who who passed away.

Uh but I haven't had a Chinese meal with my father or brother where we we haven't ordered the sweet and sour in memorium.

Okay.

Um I had a a a vague, hazy knowledge of it.

Um my my dad held back his story for for years.

And for a couple of reasons.

Um, he has friends.

Who were also survivors

And they unloaded the Holocaust stories and trauma onto their kids from a very young age.

And it it damaged them for sure.

And he he did consider telling me when I was about seventeen or eighteen.
