You give me $100,000, I can turn that around and make it into $120,000 in two months because I'm a wolf of West Virginia.
It seems so credible because he had this social media.
He was an influencer, right, with him flying on private planes and living a life of leisure.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
He's a muscular guy with a beard and all that.
A hundred investors from all over the country invested money with Teddy to get a piece of this program because they wanted to be associated with the wolf of West Virginia and his investment program.
He looks kind of like that Blazerian fellow.
Really?
Like that kind of type, you know, with like sort of the mountain man beard, but kind of chiseled good looks.
Yeah.
Who do you compare him to?
So he forgot to tell his investors that his social media persona was complete nonsense.
That slipped his mind.
He was living month to month with poor credit and defaulting on loans, delinquent on taxes.
Things were not actually going very well for him personally.
He never even owned the buildings that he was purporting to renovate and flip.
Never even owned them.
But he uses the money that's coming in from the investors to kind of prop up the illusion of a luxurious lifestyle, something we've talked about before when it comes to these social media influencers who are committing fraud to create that illusion, kind of fake it till you make it.
He couldn't pay people back.
Happens.
