But as also in response to this whole discussion, many people kind of doubling down on this idea that it's something which almost doesn't doesn't bear talking about, which I think certainly puts us onto a loser for the fact that how do you have ethnic minorities if you don't have an ethnic majority is one thing.
And also how do you create a any kind of cohesive society if you have a level of sort of asymmetric multiculturalism which not only says that
All groups can be celebrated apart from the majority one, but all groups exist apart from the majority one.
That doesn't seem to me to be something that will bring people together.
If anything, I I think it's going to encourage a level of sort of ethnic siloing that surely we all want to avoid.

And that's something which clearly anyone who's got a head screwed on their shoulders should want to push back upon.
I suppose the point in which where this gets quite thorny is the notion of Englishness and the existence of English people as an ethnic group, I think is broadly speaking beyond question, at least in terms in the terms that we generally understand groups and nations and what have you.
