It would be a bit like when we had that killer in

Nottingham a few years ago, Valdo Calicane, who was a paranoid schizophrenic, murdered three people in the midst of a very heightened episode.

Again, there were various missed opportunities to stop him, one of which was the fact that he was black and the local authorities were concerned about putting too many black people in that form of kind of medicalized confinement.

But nevertheless, it would be it's one thing to say that's a horrific story, um, and of course he was not a well man when it happened, but to say we're all

Valdo Caligane and to say that isn't this a damning indictment of the way in which our mental health services are failing people, I think we would see as as an odd response.

And it's is something that you see

Nowadays growing when there is a kind of vaguely woke political script that one could apply to it.

So it's mental health in this case.

You even saw a little bit of it in the wake of Arena Zarutska's horrific murder on that bus in Charlotte, where you had the local kind of democratic mayor come out and suggest that basically everyone, including the killer, was a was a victim in this because of the failure to take mental health seriously.

Because he was also clearly quite a

depraved man.

So even if we we recognise the kind of

the ambiguity, the complicated nature of this.

I think that level of kind of full throated identification with Lindsay Clancy, I think, is a little bit strange.
