Yes, this is going to work or no, I'm not sure this is going to work.
And I knew it was going to work right away.
Yeah, I agree 100%.
And look, I think one of the toughest things is to kind of drop that veil a little bit and let people into your life.
Because as Sylvie says, I can get you stats from anywhere.
I can get you takes on anything.
But if you don't identify or have a strong feeling about the personality and how they're telling you things or they don't create a connection with you, then you're just a faceless, nameless, another show.
That was also something that I thought that...
That you got to get used to it.
Like, you got to talk about being able to fart in church and everyone turning around looking at you and laughing and saying that was me, you know, and bringing that to the audience and kind of humanizing yourself, you know, and just have a... I think that, you know, the things that I... There are a lot of things that I'm proud about and what we've created over the course of almost two decades is...
One is we don't do interviews.
We have conversations with people, and that may sound cliche-ish, but, you know, it's like if we want to have you on, we'll get to certain questions, but what we want to do is have a conversation with you.
What we want you to be is at ease and just kind of feel like you're talking with friends.
And I think that, you know, that's kind of been our approach, not just with interviews, but with the show as well.
Like, I don't want to come home and fish after four hours of just pounded stacks, right?
You know, like I want to laugh and I'm getting old.
So like as I've gotten older, I've been much more, strangely enough, much more willing to let my guard down and veer out of the sports lane into the world of fatherhood and, you know, being a husband for 35 years today, by the way, 35th anniversary.
But just being a human, you know what I mean?
Like people want to identify with you.
They don't want to feel like you're looking down at them, preaching sports at them.
