No, it's fair to say the party hasn't stopped.
The fan fest here in Monterey has been a particular kind of attraction, I think, for media outlets, for supporters as well.
The other day, I think it was for the game against South Korea.
There were 100,000 fans at that fan fest.
Crazy videos of people jumping over ditches just to get in.
It seems to be the place to be.
And that's despite Monterey not having had any of the Mexico games, the only Mexican host city not to have that.
But the stadiums have been packed full of Mexico shirts despite that.
The other day during the South Korea-South Africa game, while Mexico were playing against the Czech Republic, you had goal alerts coming through and it was almost as if those goals had happened in Monterey rather than
mexico city and i think the the main thing to say in all that is the co-hosts really didn't expect to have such a such a good team if you look at the team on paper it's not one of the strongest sides at this tournament and yet they seem to have ridden that wave of excitement around around the country hosting its first world cup since 1986 and now there's kind of no knowing how far they could go
Yeah, well, like I say, I think there wasn't much expectation on this Mexico side's shoulders, maybe just from the fans having, you know, you want to have a good performance as the co-host.
They obviously have this curse of the quinto partido that they talk about, the fifth game, which they can never seem really to get past.
I think everyone's looking forward to that round of 16, potential round of 16 tie against England at the Azteca.
I mean, what a game that would be on so many levels.
But we have to remember, they have to get past Ecuador first.
And Ecuador, no mugs themselves.
It's going to be a tricky match.
So I would say Mexico fans should be a bit careful about looking forward so much to that England game.
Although inevitably there is excitement now that Javier Aguirre's side have won three out of three games in the group stage and are progressing as group winners.
