That was key.
And I kinda stumbled in on stand up comedy.
I've always watched stand up comedy, but
Since I was a kid, I never understood that that was a profession.
That was nothing you actually did.
Because usually the stand-up comics that I kind of watched in the beginning was like Seinfeld and Eddie Murphy, but they also did a lot of movies, right?
So I was like, okay, so that's an actor, right?
That's a that's that's not a just kind of a side quest, I guess, or something.
But
Studying or or being a teacher, uh, after a couple of years, I kind of looked into stand-up comedy or actually laughter, really.
What laughter does to people, how laughter because every time I spoke to colleagues and they were ha they were having troubles with a certain group or a certain class, I never had those problems.
So I was like, What do I do differently?
And so we kind of s talked about that and I did like um a small
Uh another evaluation, but I talked to my students a lot and they were like, Yeah, but you relax, you make us laugh, and it's fun.
I okay.
So I was looking into what happens when we laugh, like more on a theoretical level and and trying to understand like what actually happens in our bodies when we laugh.
Well, we kind of relax a little bit, but I think the key thing that I found was
If I make someone laugh, they kind of perceive it as a gift.
They perceive it as I've given you something, right?
So and if someone has given you something, you kind of trust the person in a different way because it felt good, the thing I got, right?
