And he came in to the accounting org and was like, why do you guys do standard costs?

Like, why don't you just know what it costs?

And the accountants would say, well, that's just the way we've always done it.

You know, we've just always had a standard cost.

And so we kept digging and found out that they just had a standard cost.

And then they would at the end of the quarter, they would adjust it.

And he found out that they had a standard cost because they didn't know down to the component level what everything was costing.

And so they didn't really have great data visibility.

They were just relying on the data that they had.

And so if you can come in and if you can challenge certain data sets, certain processes, things of that nature, and you can ultimately kind of steer your own ship and you can land on a metric that should be tied to your North Star.

And then once you're rowing in the right direction,

then everything kind of just falls into place.

Totally agreed.

We've been so focused on just building out our data processes and teams and just, you know, if we need something, we should have a path forward in order to get that data point.

So I really love two podcasts, and I'll shout them out now.

Both of these podcasts are a little bit more tech-oriented, but I love some of the topics, and they're always following what's happening in the markets, so I really like it.

But the first one is Acquired.fm.

I don't know if some of your listeners, maybe they've heard of that.

Yeah.

dive deep into kind of company histories and they really break things down in an interesting way.
