Um so that's one situation.
Kevin Rudd, when he took over as opposition leader, admittedly not as Premier or Prime Minister, it was instantaneous.
The contrast between John Howard and him was he's a new, younger version of of an economic conservative, which was Kevin Rudd's calling card.
So that was another example.
So
You know,
Ben Carroll's now got an opportunity as the new premier to paint that canvas.
The the most significant finding to me in the poll that we did for the AFR was um both Ben Carroll and Jess Wilson, the opposition leader, are largely undefined in the public's eye.
So only
Forty-seven percent of Victorians had a defined view of j of Jess Wilson, which was uh favorable or unfavorable, and fifty-seven percent for Ben Carroll.
So
Whereas Jacinta Allen was largely defined, and unfortunately for Jacinta Allen, they didn't really like her, it's very hard to change those perceptions.
You you can run a fantastic advertising campaign that will make some people reconsider, but you have to spend a lot of money on it.
And um uh but now they've got a bit of a blank canvas labor so they can paint Ben Carroll.
Um he grew up in Airport West and he worked at Kmart for I think it's eight years.
So
So expect him to be at Kmart doing doorstops, you know, once or twice a week.
He's got a great backstory.
And if they can paint that backstory really well, I would not
The only way he's gonna win is to be the change that voters want right now.
