When we were able to help folks deal so much more effectively with a fentanyl coming into this country, saving life after life after life.
that you should feel incredibly good about what you're doing.
Because you can look at that and say, I made a difference.
I made a difference in someone's life.
I saved someone's life.
I helped a story go on that otherwise would have ended.
Oh, I think, yeah.
Look, I'm an optimist by nature, and maybe that's a failure, but I think we both look at the sweep of our history.
And we go back to whether it was the revolution, whether it was the Civil War,
whether it was the reconstruction, whether it was the challenges in the 1920s, two world wars, the 1960s, all sorts of moments when it looked like the bottom was falling out in different ways on this incredible enterprise, this effort to forge and always build a more perfect union.
And each and every time, we came out on the other side and we came out ahead.
And I'm convinced, as convinced as I've ever been, that not only can we do that, we will do that.
But it is a really challenging moment and one that means that people can't be complacent.
You have to dig in.
You have to be engaged.
You have to continue to do whatever your part is in trying to build that more perfect union.
That's the...
That's everything that has made this country move forward from generation to generation, that objective of building that more perfect union.
And as long as we don't lose sight of that, then I'm convinced we will continue to show progress as a country.
We will continue to overcome.
