I was at Turf Moor yesterday, where I've been going since 1979 when my dad first took me.

I still go with my dad and my three sons, who were all born in the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, but nevertheless are still Burnley supporters.

So yesterday I was at that game, dramatic game.

We were 3-0 down after 36 minutes, having played truly terribly.

And make no mistake, I know we are going to be relegated this season.

However...

We fall back to 3-3, and we were terrific for a spell of the second half and actually scored what we believe to be the fourth goal.

I've seen it back, and if people believe that that is what the offside rule is for, then they are deluded about what our game is.

It should have been one of the truly great games yesterday, and instead the referee and his colleagues at Stockley Park in West London have ruined it.

Now, yes, I'm biased.

I'm a fan of the home team, but I've been saying I do not want VAR from the very start.

I don't want it when it goes for us.

I don't want it when it goes against us.

It ruins games.

Now, let me just tell you one thing, boys, because I've been working in television sport for a long time.
