At the time I signed my contract, I had the highest annual average value of a contract as a pitcher.
So it really just depends on, I mean,
Yeah, it just depends on what year you're a free agent, who else is a free agent, and what team's going to sign you.
Yeah.
I mean, if you're a great pitcher and there's four other great pitchers on the market, you're not going to get the premium dollars.
But if you're the only A-list pitcher on the market that year, and Boston, New York, and New York, the other New York team, or Chicago all had bad years in the pitching, you're going to get a...
Probably underpaid.
I mean, if he's pitching.
If he's pitching.
Because if he's healthy as a pitcher, and he's probably like a $35 to $40 million pitcher, and then he's probably like a $40 million physician player, but that's not even including the brand value that you get for having the most famous baseball player on the planet on your team.
like the Dodgers are going to make money on that contract over the course of it with endorsement deals.
I mean, really worldwide.
And then just the brand awareness for the Dodgers brand in Japan, the opportunities they're going to have to grow.
for their brand there i mean they're they're gonna they're gonna make money on that yeah that makes sense what do you have as you're pitching like ghosts i guess other than yourself current ones yeah we'll do current and then we'll do uh overall like uh let's see so in order to be great you gotta be on the field you gotta be consistent over a long period of time in my book um so you're looking like gare cole zach wheeler clayton kershaw berlander scherzer
Sale, he had some injuries there in the middle, but if he has another three or four good years, I think he's going to qualify because he was so good for the first six or seven years he was in the league.
I wish DeGrom was healthy because he was just so good.
He's healthy.
That's the one on the Mets, right?
He was on the Mets and then he signed with the Rangers, but he's been hurt.
So I think he'll be back this year and we'll see how he is.
