And then a lot of the best players in America are like spring training and trying to get ready for the season.
A lot of the organizations here in America don't want their players playing that as well because if you're paying someone $30 million to play for you to try to win the World Series and they go and get hurt in the World Baseball Classic...
When you're out.
It happened in the Mets the other... I mean, last year.
Their closer, Diaz, was pitching a World Baseball Classic and celebrating.
And I think he popped his Achilles or maybe his... I forget what.
In celebration of winning the game.
No way.
And then he missed the entire season for the Mets.
And of course, if you're a franchise, you're still paying him.
Contracts are guaranteed.
You didn't do anything wrong, but your player's missing.
Like, that sucks.
Yeah.
So I get it from the organization's perspective.
It was so much more in the line.
But also from the player's perspective, like, I would love to play because I want to represent my country.
Yeah.
And international baseball is just super fun.
I've tried to play for Team USA every single year that there's been something going on, and they've never been interested.
