A train of this size, I mean, it was 75 cars long, which is over a mile.
It weighed 6,000 tons.
It was going 52 miles an hour.
You imagine it takes quite a bit of distance to stop something like this.
So to be a little bit more specific, the train was still breaking and slowing down.
They know that they had hit something and they had identified it as human bodies.
And so they continued with the stop and it took about another half a mile and then they were stopped somewhere around 425 a.m.
The crew then immediately called the police and reported the incident to railroad officials.
And by 440 a.m., both local and state police were on the scene and an investigation was underway to figure out why these two humans, we don't know who they are yet, but why they were on the tracks.
And if we can figure out, of course, anything else.
Right.
Now, as this investigation immediately goes underway, police believe that this might have been a double suicide, despite the protests from the train crew that kind of indicated something didn't sit right about that.
You know, in their memory, when they recollect this, they're seeing two
unmoving bodies whether they're dead already or unconscious is yet to be determined but they're thinking this isn't a too conscious knowingly doing this kind of people this it doesn't sit right to call this suicide in their opinions right i mean you never know you know what i mean but it just it's not lining up so far these two would be have like you know a pact to do this kind of thing
And on top of that, you know, I remember reading or listening to as well interviews from Schreuer and he's like, this green tarp just didn't sit right with him.
And it was kind of off to the side.
It's almost as if they were trying to be obscured, but the tarp had shifted in some way, allowing him to identify that it was bodies.
And so that's what really is sitting in his mind, you know?
And there are two different angles here.
You know, some reports state that they told police and that the police could not find this body.
