Because Captain Flynn wasn't a real pirate.
But in the show, they have all... No, he was married.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
He was a former naval captain.
And there were a lot of former Navy men that became pirates.
Makes sense, because you need a lot of training, and you need a ship.
It was kind of the perfect storm to create this.
It's not like people could just be like, oh, I'm just going to grab a ship and go.
It's like, that's such a...
And like on, like I was talking about earlier, the pirate code, like conditions, like as far as like being on a ship and being paid, like conditions on pirate ships generally were better.
Like in the British Navy, like the captain had like final authority on anything.
You could never question him.
The pay was set and it wasn't based on like how much you actually plundered because like pirates were given out like equal shares.
And so it's like you only had a certain amount.
And so like when the war ended and like a lot of these like Navy guys were like losing their jobs or whatever, it's like, yeah, go be a pirate.
It is a brutal show.
I think the reason I love that show so much is because it does have all these famous pirates.
And from what I know and have read, they're pretty accurate to what their personalities and how they would be.
But it just shows piracy in all of its like really cool, like magnificent, like sailing the seven seas.
