You know, obviously the area around them a lot of times,
feeds towards them um and so they they sort of get get swallowed up like i said earlier it's like there's a magnet in there and it's just like it's encouraging your ball to come towards it uh but uh once you get in them i mean it's you know you're looking at half to full shot penalty and um that's why i love it i was actually having this discussion with my son while we were watching it
thinking back to players who've won the Open or done real well who've never been in a bunker for the week.
I seem to remember Tiger, maybe in 2000 at St.
Andrews, he wasn't in one bunker the whole week.
And so to be able to plot your way around, I mean, some are harder than others.
You know, you look at an aerial of the 18th draw at Birkdale, there's so many of them out there just looking to grab your ball.

He had the driver in his hand.
He's kind of wandering around the tee box.
waiting for someone to tell him he can go ahead and whack it, and just steps up there and crushes it down the middle.
I mean, it really highlights what a magnificent tee shot that was.
Yeah, I think that's an accurate and fair assessment right there.
You just never quite know, particularly in this style of golf.
