When these trades happen, the extension is part of it.

But part of the reason that AD is okay with a trade like this is that—

He's going to get paid.

Same thing with Trey Young.

They see the opportunity there from a salary cap perspective, knowing it's coming down the line.

You throw in the fact that Rich Paul's his agent.

You know this guy's getting paid.

So the Wizards have to hope he stays on the court and that he lives up to his contract going forward.

They gave Bradley Beal a no-trade clause.

Oh, that's a long time ago.

They gave John Wall a giant contract when he was injured.

They gave Gilbert Arenas a giant contract when he was injured.
