We understand that.

But Israel is also bracing for the possibility that this continues to escalate for a matter of days and possibly weeks.

A ballistic missile slammed into the city of Jerusalem, causing significant damage and wounding at least seven people.

There was another attack earlier outside of Jerusalem.

At least nine people were killed, including six members of the same family.

When first responders arrived, they were digging through the rubble.

Most of the country waited in bomb shelters.

There are air raid sirens that are sounding in northern Israel in the city of Haifa.

Haifa is Israel's third largest city.
