For those who don't know, about a month ago, uh there was a letter called Pacing the Frontier, where 1300 employees of the AI labs signed a letter saying we need to slow down frontier AI.
If you had 1300 employees of Lockheed Martin sign a letter saying, please don't make us build nuclear weapons that are bigger than the ones that we have now because we don't know how to control them, would you listen to them?
Yeah.
The chief scientist of open AI just uh two weeks ago wrote an essay called An Alien Mind and he came out saying, We need to slow down AI development.
I want people to know this is not a hoax.
I know that there's like a lot of misinformation going on there.
So let's
I think there's multiple things going on here, um, and some of which I think are legitimate.
So, do do I think, first of all, that we should trust Sam Altman and Elon Musk or Dario by default?
No, I think you should be very skeptical and cynical of them.
But I want people to pay attention to the layer down from them.
The 1300 employees at the labs, the chief scientist, uh Jakob of OpenAI, the the people who are resigning and whistleblowing, Daniel Cocotello, who wrote AI 27.
Who is an open AI whistleblower?
Even the author, by the way, of Trump's own AI action plan, Dean Ball, came out uh a week and a half ago.
Most people don't know this.
And what did he say?
I regret self-censoring about the level of risk that we faced.
