So after obtaining a search warrant for Ms. Reed's phone, we weren't able to extract any data from it until August of 2023. Troopers in my office knew I was going through the phone that evening. I was most interested in location data, text messages, Google searches. That was the update I gave the troopers in the office. It was a distasteful joke. I should have gave a proper update instead of that.
I wasn't able to go through the phone as thoroughly as possible because I came across some text between an attorney and Ms. Freed, so I had to stop going through her phone, and I made my supervisor aware of those communications.
