Number three, the last text we have was him asking us to basically review his paddle, promote his paddle, talk about his paddle, everything like that. Like literally the last conversations we had was him asking us to do him a favor, which I think we kind of did. Yeah. So that's the part that's weird. It's like when you need something from somebody, you're nice and you're their friend. And then when you don't need them anymore... voice-verified
Listen, he can have those feelings or whatever it is he wants. If he doesn't like me for whatever reason, that's fine. That's his prerogative. He can have his own opinion. However, if it's something that I actually did or said, I would love to know what that is. Because to my understanding, everything I've done has been in good faith. And we've had a pretty cordial relationship. We've played multiple tournaments. And like I said, the last conversation we had with him was him asking us to help promote his paddle. voice-verified
Right? James Ignatovich is not a guy that's going to say anything back. He's that guy. And that's fine. That's fine. But if you want to have credibility or whatever it is, like say whatever it is that I did or somebody did. I want to hear it. To make you not like that person. I mean, he even stole your partner. He stole Anna Bright from you. Yeah. So I thought it was funny. I mean, I need to get something off my chest. Uh-oh. Am I polarizing? voice-verified
because i feel like there's a certain there's a few players that maybe don't like polarizing that's interesting and i'm just curious as to what it might be why and i don't want to name those players but if we get into the personal lives of those said players it's kind of interesting i don't know if those have the best balanced lives that uh i don't know how to say it voice-verified
I mean, once again, like most of the stuff, like no shame to you or anything like that. I don't care. But most of the stuff is coming from you. Like it's your opinion. I can't help that people like me. Just kidding. There's plenty. Actually, there's a dude. There's a dude. voice-verified
Not that I can think of. Once again, we talked about this guy, and I don't know if he was calling us out specifically, but there's this fairly well-known YouTuber, LinkedIn guy. Clickbaiter. Clickbaiter that does a lot of reviews of businesses and stuff like that. And his name is Michael Girdley. voice-verified
not to get confused with austin gridley the griddler would never he makes a post and he says i've become public enemy number one when it comes to pickleball pickle podcasters have been all over me lately here's the thing i play three times a week i love the sport but the business of pickleball is in serious trouble the math is brutal the pickler which he spells it incorrectly so i'm assuming he's voice-verified
referring to the one we're talking about but uh he says the pickler the biggest franchisor finally had to publish real numbers cost to open a location 1.2 million to 2.1 million median revenue is 940k margins just under 10 so if you invest 2 million just to make 90 000 that's worse than t-bills with none of the risk why because gyms make money when people sign up voice-verified
and never show up. Planet Fitness oversells capacity 10 times. Pickleball players actually show up three times a week for hours. It's an all-you-can-eat buffet where every customer eats. Add it up. Boomers are aging out. They built this sport. The youngest are 62. My generation is 15% smaller and still working. Young people choose paddle. Glass walls look great on Instagram. Nobody looks cool playing pickleball, including myself. voice-verified
I mean, it's not going anywhere. Yeah. For sure. Anything else before we get into questions? No, but... voice-verified
I do wish I still played pickleball with those older people. Dude, it's fun. That was when it was like, yeah, pure. All right, before we get into questions, we have to give a big shout out to Club Pickleball Mastermind. Speaking of these pickleball facilities that are going out of business, Club Pickleball, they teach you, they tell you how to run pickleball clubs efficiently and profitably. And I promise you, their own facilities that they implement all this information, they are doing just fine. voice-verified
If you have any questions about how to operate pickleball facilities, if you're in the pickleball business and you want to network or just kind of get a little bit more wisdom, a little bit more knowledge and connect with other people, like-minded people, reach out to him. The next one is this upcoming week, August 12th through the 14th. We may or may not be there talking to some of you guys. voice-verified
Make sure to sign up and tell them that the guys at KOTC sent you. Devin, the founder also does free phone calls. And so if you're, if you have a question, if you're on the fence, make sure to reach out to him and get those questions answered. You can maximize your revenue, minimize your expenses all by attending this incredible mastermind event. Yeah. All right. Sign up now. voice-verified
Sign up today. Okay, question time. All right. Which is funny. All right, you ready, Jimmy? Somebody made fun of my tan line, by the way. You've got a nasty tan line, man. Dude, listen, at least I'm getting some sun. Jimmy, do you think it was a coincidence that when Dallas was down 4-9 in the second game against Las Vegas, already down 1-0 in their first match Saturday in Dallas, the lights went dim for a while, giving them more time to regroup. voice-verified
I feel like, did he put his name on the Stanley Cup like Dundon's kids? All right. Somebody said, just went back to watch Jimmy's description of the salary cap. I think this was last week. And have a question. Does Anna Bright get that money from the bid to draft? And would that amount count toward the salary cap? She does not get any of that money. Well, I shouldn't say she doesn't see a penny of it because she does get a salary from the league. voice-verified
in my personal opinion, I think a strong characteristics, something that defines these great players is everlasting strength and success. Being able to continue like Ben Johns, what he's done, what Anna Lee has done year after year, after year, after year is insane. You see a lot of these players come into the sport. They'll have these crazy upsets. They'll be great for one year, maybe two years or whatever, but then they fade out. But some of these players, like it just said, Ben Johns, um, voice-verified
JW Johnson, all these guys, they have had long history of success. True. Somebody said, is Zane okay? voice-verified
I mean, for the first time, I think we're talking about Zane Navratil, not Zane Ford, which is crazy. Look, if he did it for the reasons I think he did it, I respect it a little bit. He still looked unhinged. So one thing that I will add, and I probably should have added it earlier on when we were talking about that, but to me, it's very interesting that there's a lot of voice-verified
not a lot, but there are certain players that say they love the screaming. They love the, they love the energy. They love the chirping and everything like that. But as soon as it's directed towards them, they seem to get in their feelings and it gets under their skin and it really bothers them. And I actually, Zane maybe was trying to pump up his team. Maybe it got under his skin and he was actually really frustrated. Well, I remember that. I'm pretty sure Zane came out with something about sportsmanship at one point or another. Um, voice-verified
For the most part, if you're just trying to get yourself pumped up or whatever, go for it. Yeah. All right. Somebody said, what would have been Vivian Glossman's ceiling in the PPA if she continued playing? Hmm. voice-verified
