Have you met him?
Yeah, yeah, I got to talk to him a couple of times at the the NFL Honors Award show and then um you know joint practices this this year.
Um so it's um it's really cool being able to kinda learn uh from him.
You know, he's got so many years of experience and
And uh, you know, the level that he's playing at, it's really encouraging, especially um just kinda considering where where he's at in his career as well.
Yeah, I mean I Tom Brady is the obvious answer for me.
I mean, again, he went uh like you know, my dad being from Michigan, he played at Michigan, um, his success that he had, but for me I what I liked about Matthew is you're kind of similar size and I liked his toughness and um now you kind of as you get older you start playing in college in the NFL you s understand um not everything is going to be picture perfect where you have maybe the career
care um right off the bat that you know Tom had in early those Super Bowl you know wins and seeing you know Peyton um early on in his career kind of you know being able to kinda grow through those moments and then you know Matthew those those years in Detroit and um him being able to have success as well is it's really cool to watch.
Oh man, that's uh that's a good one.
I feel like even in college, I I feel like I had that belief.
I had that self belief and you know, there was times where you know I I had multiple injuries.
Um you're fighting back from certain different you know, different scenarios, but I feel like given an opportunity, I was gonna make the most of it.
And um there's always those lapses of confidence, doubts, you know, every single week you have to continue to prepare and you know, fight and um but more than anything.
I just knew uh I was gonna make the most of it and I gotta continue to earn it every single week.
And you went to what, three schools?

Yeah, I mean it was kinda three separate experiences to where, you know, you're you're twenty, twenty one years old, you know, a younger player at Oregon and you don't necessarily don't know what you don't know and you're not necessarily the best leader or you know, playing at a level that you're capable of and you go to Texas Tech and um you really find your kind of love for competing and um and you get you know, you get injured, you know, three times and you kinda f figure out a way to to change your perspective and have gratitude for
for going out there and practicing and um you start that fear of failure starts to kinda go away and you're just out there having fun and and at Louisville is kind of a culmination of all those things where um you know I feel like I playing in different f you know, five different offenses, having those moments where it it allowed me to just go play free and um kinda trying to do that, you know, for the remainder of my career and um just go out there and have fun and um and and do the best I can with my best put forward.
No, I I I took it as a a compliment.
I knew what he was saying, uh but my coaches kinda took it the other way.
