Vanessa interviewed Alison Alford.

She's a professor at Baylor University and the author of a new book, Good Daughtering, the work you've always done, the credit you've never gotten, and how to finally feel like enough.

Allison has spent years researching the concept of daughtering, which she explains is all this invisible care work that adult daughters do.

The story of Selena and her mother, Mandy Teefee, made us think about Allison's conversation, which put a lot of these complicated dynamics into perspective.
