Now that same brownstone is worth about $3 million. matched

And so there's this great thing in real estate called depreciation. matched

But it's a lot of appreciation. matched

And so that is a huge benefit. matched

So people reap that benefit. matched

Granted, that is a paper benefit. matched

So you don't actually benefit from that until you sell the property. matched

So that's one way. matched

Another way is by flipping. matched

So a few people bought properties. matched

They watched them appreciate for a few years. matched

Then they sold them at a profit. matched
